ABSTRACT. The object was to evaluate association of polymorphism in milk serum protein genes alpha-lactalbumin (ALA) and beta-lactoglobulin (LGB) with milk productivity and technological properties of milk in two dairy breeds − Black-and-White (n-500) and Bestuzhevskaya (n=150). Under simultaneous evaluation of two genotypes ALA/LGB, the general tendency was revealed in both breeds: the greatest milk yields and the best indicators of heat stability and abomasal milk coagulability have had the cows with genotypes ALABB/LGBBB and ALABB/LGB AB. Milk of cows with genotypes ALA AB/LGB AA and ALAAB/LGB AB contained a more amount of fat, protein, casein, lactose and minerals. So, the potentially desirable genotypes are those combining alleles B in various combinations including heterozygous states, as well as by gene ALA and by gene LGB.
