ABSTRACT. The trial was performed on two groups of chicken-broilers, cross Ross 308, 35 chicken each fed through 1-42 days a basic ration (BR, control) or BR supplemented with organic selenium (selenopyran, 0.01 g/kg of feed) combined with probiotic based on four strains of lactobacilli (treatment group). In treatment group during experiment, J content in blood and tissues (muscles and liver) was significantly higher (P<0.05) vs control. Analysis of intestinal microflora indicated a tendency to elevated quantity of lactobacilli vs control. Growth rate of chicken in treatment group was higher compared to control (P<0.05). At the end of experiment, the values of live weight in control and treatment groups were 1843±79 and 2045±49 g (P<0.05). On the authors’s opinion, the stimulatory effect of a combined application of an organic selenium and probiotic on growth performance resulted, possibly, by synergistic action of Se, J and lactobacilli.
