ABSTRACT. The object was to evaluate efficacy of selenopyran (SP, 9-phenyl symmetrical octa-hydro selenoxantene), feed supplements epophen (EP, coenzyme Q derivate) and chitosan (CHI, chitin derivate) in fattening bulls reared in zone of elevated pollution with 137Cs (20-40 Ci/km2) and trace metals. The trials was performed on 48 bulls which at LW 300 kgs were ascribed to 4 groups, 12 bulls each, fed basic diet (BD, group 1). The treatments were i/m injection of prolonged preparation of SP at the dose 300 mg/day (group II), diet supplement with EP, daily in amounts of 1 g/day (group III) and diet supplement with CHI, daily in amounts of 4.5 g/day (group IV). LWG was higher in all three groups vs control (P<0.05 in II and III groups). In group II at the end of trial, there was indicated the increase in the activity of Se-glutathione peroxidase, cytochrome P-450, thiol/disulfide groups ratio (SH/SS) and level of LPHD cholesterol (all P<0.05); Pb content in muscle and level of LPLD cholesterol were decreased compared with control. The level of specific activity of 137Cs in muscle of bulls in I, II, III and IV groups were 112±6, 82.8±4.8, 83.1±3.3 and 102±11 Bq/kg respectively. As a whole, the greatest influence on the clearance of 137Cs and trace metals, and on the level of natural resistance was exerted by SP, some lesser effective was EP and CHI.
