ABSTRACT. The trial was conducted on 12 Black-and-White calves, 6 calves each during 2 mo, from 30th up to 90th day of life. Starting from 1 mo of age for 10 days once a day, calves of treatment group received a milk replacer supplemented with preparation consisting of a complex of ingredients at the dose, g/calf per day: sodium citrate - 0.8, succinic acid - 0.3, fumaric acid – 1.0, carnitine – 0.5, vitamin B2 – 0.002, glycine – 0.05, magnesium chloride – 0.001, vitamin C – 0.002, glucose – 3, elemental sulfur – 5. After 2 months of the experiment, the weight gain in the control group increased by 176%, while in treatment group by 201% (P<0.01). During 2 months, the increase was indicated in threatment group in antioxidant activity of blood, in concentrations of reduced sulfhydryl groups (P <0.01), in the activity of catalase (P <0.001), LDH and pyruvate carboxilase (P<0.001), in the concentration of alpha-amino nitrogen due to lower levels of urea (P<0.05) and in concentration of the oxidized disulfide groups compared with control. Concluded that the feeding of developed complex preparation to milky calves has an adaptogenic effect, it increases antioxidant protection, non-specific resistance and growth performance.
