Two groups of egg-laying chicken, 24 chicken each, were fed diets with different levels of manganese (group I, 49 mg/kg, group II, 99 mg/kg) from 80 to 120 days of life. At the age of 120 days, the venous blood probes were taken from v. brachialis, v. duodenalis, v. mesenterica anterior before and after feeding, then the birds were slaughtered and samples of liver, intestine and chyme were taken. The chyme was fractionated on soluble, dense endogenous and food particles fraction. Mn content in serosa did not change in different parts of intestine and did not depend upon the level of Mn in diet. Mn content in mucosa augmented in both groups in the caudal direction and on increased Mn level in the diet it was higher in the ileum (group I, 1.05±0,16, group II, 2.74±0,21 mg/100 g, P<0,01) and rectum. Mn content in dry matter of dense endogenous fraction was 20-30 times higher than in the mucosa and increased in caudal direction. The data obtained suggest that excess of Mn is accumulated by chyme dense endogenous fraction and excreted; Mn is needed for forming dense endogenous fraction; it does occur influence upon absorption of amino acids and Ca through the activation of luminal hydrolytic enzymes.
